What is Motzah?

1. What foods did you eat growing up that you later found out were regional items? (specific brands or recipes that you thought everyone could buy or make)
Hmmm... Probably Sand Plum jelly. I'm sure anyone can make it, if they have sand plums growing wild in the area. Probably some Indian dishes like fry bread. We are pretty much your average meat, potato, beans and rice people.

2. Ham or turkey at Christmas and Easter? Or was there some other main course not typical for your area or religion?
I came from a huge family, so we usually have both if it's at grandma's, along with fried chicken and homemade chicken and noodles. If it's at my mom's, we do our own small family favorites- homemade Mexican or Chinese.

3. What was your favorite meal served at your elementary school?
Cheesburgers. The soy kind, but at least the buns were homemade. Everything else was pretty gross.

4. What family recipes have been handed down to you, and have you tweaked any of them a little bit to make them more yours?
Hmm... I've never been brave enough to make my grandma's noodles, but someday I'll try. I'll use boneless chicken breasts instead of having to boil and debone a whole chicken. I'm not really a cook, so I pretty much just assist while other people are cooking lol. Oddly enough, Ashlee has no family (yet), but she has the cooking genes, so I'll just have to have holidays at her house when everyone's gone lmao
My aunt makes a few nice Iranian dishes that I want to learn- I attempt her cucumber yogurt but it never tastes as good as hers.

5. Are there foods/recipes you wouldn't eat as a child that you now regularly enjoy?
I hated peanut butter, macaroni, and goulash. Well, I still don't like goulash, but I eat it at grandma's. But I love peanut butter and macaroni.
